Who knows, perchance she may yet find her way to Yaletown and the “Underbrella Labyrinth”…
This totally redefines what “Raincouver” means!
The second image in this Instagram post wonderfully captures the moment of contemplation before one enters my Robson Square Labyrinth…

Many Thanks to GlobalBC Weekend News Anchor Sonia Deol (@soniadeol1) who on her day off ( July 3 2018 ) took a few minutes worth of her family time to interview me about the Labyrinth I chalked in Jack Poole Plaza in Downtown #Vancouver . . .

The Heart in The Centre of the Labyrinth I painted in Robson Square, Downtown Vancouver…
Never been called an Umbrella man before!
Hey, that’s me in the background chalking one the dozen Heart Aglets in this Labyrinth!
I have so few photographs of myself making Labyrinths, that I always appreciate when I discover them.
Thank you Alice!
Good to see how well the Chalk Labyrinth I did the other evening in Bill Curtis Square in Yaletown is holding up.
However, the Heart in the centre of the Labyrinth is almost all gone.
I observed many people would walk right into the centre, stand on the heart, and then take photographs or have photographs taken of them standing on the heart.
Looking forward to re-making a new Chalk Labyrinth here with all I’ve learned by observing how people are interacting with it from this first attempt.
Reflection upon Reflection upon the Heart at the Start of my Robson Square Labyrinth . . .
I am… grateful for being able to learn how the Labyrinth I painted in Robson Square is being walked and reflected upon.
“It’s not every day you find a big green Labyrinth to walk in the middle of downtown.
“Walking this one was a very weird experience.
“It’s in the middle of a pedestrian-only thoroughfare and I got in many people’s way as I followed the path.
“My movements, weaving the meandering path, clashed with the movements of other pedestrians and their straight lines through the street.
“On this day I was feeling very grateful for my greatest friendships which are also some of my greatest loves.
“One of my sweetest, oldest, and dearest friends took this photo of me and it reminds me of how powerful and mesmerizing love between friends can be.
“Our culture grants so much privilege to romantic, sexual, monogamous partnerships and places so much value on the unit of “the couple”… yet the romance and intimacy within platonic friendships is one of the sweetest gifts on this earth, and deserves just as much privilege and celebration💖
“The deep unconditional love from friends has helped me immensely through my grief and heartbreak.
“And I think of them with gratitude every single day.”
