Yeeeeaaahhhh….

This was kinda weird.

I really did not want to have my picture taken like this, yet I didn’t feel I had any choice.

You might be able to tell that by the look on my face.

Reflecting on it,

This was the perhaps the first time I had a Vancouver experience here in my hometown of Toronto.

In Vancouver I kept silently wondering to myself “What Planet Am I On?” as I had one positive experience after another after another with Vancouver Police Officers.

Vancouver Bicycle Cops would stop and thank me for making Chalk Labyrinths all around VanCity, one even wanted to simply shake my hand, that was at the TaiwanFest on Granville.

Other times, Vancouver Police would LOAN ME TRAFFIC PYLONS and even move them into place and direct traffic around my Labyrinths while in progress and then once completed.

Again, that permanent question “What Planet Am I On?” persisted in me as every time that happened, I had to, almost as a necessary “Must”, contrast my Labyrinth Making encounters between Toronto’s Cops and Vancouver’s.

On this Pedestrian Sunday,

I again asked myself, “What Planet Am I On?” but this time, it was IN Toronto, NOT Vancouver.

Almost five years, Since I placed the first stone and began building the Vancouver Public Labyrinth. Alhumdulillah, It’s still there, and still walkable. Almost five years,

Since I placed the first stone and began building the Vancouver Public Labyrinth.

Alhumdulillah,

It’s still there, and still walkable.

By now,

Thousands upon Thousands of Footsteps have trodden this well worn, and well visible, path.

InshAllah,

It will see at least another five years!

When I first built my Vancouver Public Labyrinth,

I intentionally named it as such with a number of aspirations in doing so.

Today, one of those aspirations has been realized.

The Public has taken ownership of hosting an event at the Vancouver Public Labyrinth on World Labyrinth Day.

That Public being The Schoolless Olympic Village.

They have on occasion made use of the Vancouver Public Labyrinth as an outdoor open-air classroom.

You can see they made the effort in creating and posting this wonderful handmade + printed invitation:

“Today is World Labyrinth Day
🍥
Come and Walk the Labyrinth”

Vancity people walking along the Seawall between Habitat Island and the Cambie Bridge would have easily seen their invitation, and perhaps a number of them walked the Vancouver Public Labyrinth on World Labyrinth Day…

Thank You Schoolless Olympic Village for tweeting and sharing your photograph today!

Grateful to see it!

Thank you!

“Googled Labyrinths in Vancouver and discovered The Vancouver Public Labyrinth in Olympic Village.

Not exactly what I was looking for,

but was an excellent day out anyways.

Especially after dragging myself through a day of medical tests.

Anyways,

this is a cool little public Labyrinth to walk.

Some of the rocks are missing,

but it’s been trodden enough that the paths are clear.

Best part of this?

It’s free and outdoors.

Perfect for a little destressing.”
