Perhaps Vertical Art like this Plastic Oasis piece can be placed in those squares and rectangles, leaving the Labyrinth path walkable without obstruction . . .

“Our outdoor movie night is tonight! Did you know that along with screening Jim Henson’s classic movie Labyrinth, we are also celebrating the launch of our beautiful new wading pool Labyrinth, designed by local artist HiMY SYeD!

“Before the show starts we are inviting families and friends to come out and help us adorn and extend our labyrinth out across the pathways that surround it with sidewalk chalk.

“Draw a hopscotch, doodle funny goblins, or trace your footprints across the park!

“Our goal is to embellish our labyrinth and create a unique community masterpiece of art and play!

“Pre-show festivities start around 7:30pm and will also include Bowie themed face paint and colouring pages, chalk art and much more.

“Movie starts around 9pm!

“So grab a blanket and snacks and get snuggled up under the serious moonlight for our screening of the timeless film Labyrinth!

“We can’t wait to “Chilly Down” with you! *PLEASE BRING LAWN CHAIRS AND COZY BLANKETS ”

In Christie Pits

The wading pool is emptied out
The trees have left their leaves about
You wear no coat, but breathe a cloud
In puffs that float, above the crowd
At play in Christie Pits

Last night the swings were flipped around
You try to reach them from the ground
Your sister climbs to set them back
While father mimes a heart attack
Brought on at Christie Pits

You snack on fruit and carrot sticks
On cans of pop and peanut mix
You heed the words from all the mums
To feed the birds but not the bums
Who sleep in Christie Pits

The swing is swung, the slide is slid
The climbers climbed, the rides all rid
It’s time to go, you beg to stay
A second NO! You turn and say
Goodbye to Christie Pits
