One of my older Labyrinths, I painted this one on the Traffic Island opposite Christie Street Subway Station, north of Bloor Street West in Toronto . . .

There used to be a water fountain in the middle, and thus the weird oval shape making up the enlarged centre of the Labyrinth.

The intention was you would walk the Labyrinth and then be able to get a drink of water using the fountain.

The fountain broke.

I painted the Labyrinth to draw attention to the broken water fountain.

Urban Acupuncture !

Rather than fix the fountain, the City of Toronto removed it.

I’ve been re-painting this Labyrinth ever since . . .

This instagram photo is taken from my story about Land’s End Labyrinth in San Francisco 11 years ago in July of 2005.

That’s my hand holding a printout of a seven circuit inner-Chartres Labyrinth design in front of Land’s End Labyrinth with The Golden Gate beyond and through the fog.

Here’s a photograph I captured immediately after the one instagrammed above…

The incline towards the centre appears removed and you’d never realize the three colour Labyrinth was never painted upon a flat surface. A Wonderful capture of my Labyrinth painted in the abandoned wading pool in Riverdale Park East. #torontolabyrinths A post shared by Morgan Yew (@weynagrom) on May 16, 2016 at 10:45am PDT
