Splash Pad with a Heart. Lakeshore, TO

I have taken many photos on the Lakeshore in 2021.

Sometime it is good to let them lie for a while and look at them with fresh eyes.

This photo got little bit colour overhaul, but otherwise it is unaltered.

Call me Mr. Pragmatic, but I like the idea of a maze, so even when the weather is cold, the splash pad is still being used.

Created by HiMY SYeD who specialize in Labyrinths.

Today is Day 26 of Ramadan 2020.

This video is from my journey to Madinah, Saudi Arabia in May/June of 2011.

I was walking from my youth hostel to visit Masjid Qiblatain.

Masjid Qiblatain is known for having two Mihrabs, or Prayer Niches.

Originally,

Muslims had faced north west from Madinah towards Masjid Al Aqsa in Jerusalem when praying.

A time came when the Direction of Prayer, the Qibla, was turned south east towards Makkah.

Hence,

The Masjid with Two Qibla.

En route,

A traffic island in the distance somehow caught my curiosity.

Alhumdulillah,

A Triangle Topiary Hedge Labyrinth !

Discovering this was a HUGE moment for me.

Muslims in The Holy City of Madinah were also making Labyrinths !

Afterwards,

I found a a small playground near Masjid Qiblatain.

In that park,

I outlined a simple three lane Classic Labyrinth in the sand and walked it.

Turning north and south and east and west.

Not unlike the Turn in Congregational Prayer Direction from Jerusalem to Makkah in the Masjid I was about to enter and visit.

Today I went for a walk in my neighbourhood and ran into @LabyrinthsDOTca painting his newest labyrinth. I learned that this is a very rare evenly numbered (22 row) labyrinth design in Toronto's oldest wading pool. That’s me painting my first Labyrinth of the Day, on Kensington Avenue in Kensington Market on Pedestrian Sunday . . .

It was HOT.

Then suddenly, as I finished painting this multi-colour Street Labyrinth, a few drops of rain began to cool down the heat.

With the ground now wet, I opted to walk north through the Market towards Augusta Avenue, where I intended to re-paint the three now faded Labyrinths I had painted one month ago, during the previous Pedestrian Sunday.
